Carleton Launch OptoYag Laser Range

OptoYag SLT

Carleton Ltd., the authorised distributor and servicing agent for Canon and Optopol has recently launched the Optotek Medical OptoYag Laser Range. Optotek is part of the Optopol Group of Companies, which is now a consolidated subsidiary of Canon. The OptoYag laser range offers short treatment times, reduced risk of IOL pitting and greater patient comfort. The SLT models offer a safe, office-based procedure that stimulates the body's own healing response to lower eye pressure, which can be used as a primary, adjunctive or repeat therapy.

The OptoYag Laser is a Q-switched Nd:YAG laser emitting short pulses at the wavelength of 1064 nm used for casulotomy and iridotomy procedures. The OptoYag emits pulses at levels from 0.5 to 10 mJ. A dual red diode aiming beam with continuous power adjustment allows precise focusing of the YAG laser.

The OptoSLT is a Q-switched frequency doubled Nd:YAG laser emitting short pulses at the wavelength of 532 nm used for selective laser trabeculoplasty treatment. OptoSLT emits pulses at levels from 0.2 to 2.6 mJ. The red laser diode aiming beam with continuous power adjustment allows precise targeting of the SLT laser. OptoSLT can be integrated into the e-SlitLight or adapted to various slit lamps.
The OptoYag SLT laser is a Q-switched Nd:YAG laser (1064 nm) and a frequency doubled Q-switched Nd:YAG laser (532 nm). Both lasers are integrated into the e-SlitLight.

All models feature a solid state LED light source with a life expectancy in the thousands of hours. White LED illumination means constant light colour independent of light intensity and lower colour temperature at high contrast. The fine energy setting buttons, enable the physician to adapt the energy used to the clinical needs and keeping continously control throughout thetreatment. The side-mounted table provides easy access for wheelchair bound patients.
